Sarah Muehlbauer is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Philadelphia, PA. She operates in a variety of media, choosing her tactics based on conceptual goals. Her methods include fibers and sculpture, filmed and live performance, and experimental video, often practiced in collaboration with other artists. Muehlbauer received her M.F.A. from Tyler School of Art, and her B.F.A from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She has participated in shows in California, New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. She is the winner of the 2008 VSA Arts National Emerging Artist Award.
In addition to art, she enjoys reading, writing, biking, trapeze, rope, and fabric. When she is not in her studio, you can find her in the air at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, at the park, or in a coffee shop near you.
