AERIAL YOGA AT AMRITA YOGA AND WELLNESS
Aerial Yoga is a playful practice that is both challenging and restorative. Borrowing apparatus and technique from contemporary circus arts, this class takes traditional postures to the air with the use of a low-slung fabric hammock, used as a prop to align the body with the ease of gravity. Suitable for both new and practiced yogis, expect lots of inversion and a pace and style that taps into the creativity of Vinyasa with long holds for deeper work. Aerial Yoga 101 classes are held every Sunday at Amrita Yoga and Wellness, introducing foundational elements of the practice, followed by the regular weekly class.
Aerial Yoga 101: Sundays 2:30- 3:30pm
Aerial Yoga: Sundays 4- 5:30pm

BIOGRAPHY
Sarah's training history accumulates 12 years experience in gymnastics, 7 years in Yoga, and 3 in the Aerial Arts (including trapeze, rope, and fabric). She has practiced various styles of yoga including Hatha, Yin, and Vinyasa, and completed her 200-hour teaching certification in Vinyasa with Joan Hyman, senior teacher at YogaWorks, Los Angeles. YogaWorks technique emphasizes smart-sequencing and modifications, making yoga safe and accessible for the beginner and challenging to the advanced practitioner. Sarah's personal philosophy toward practice is one of dedication and respect for the connection between the body and the inner self, maintaining a sense of humility and play necessary for personal growth.
Aerials entered her life upon moving to Philadelphia to pursue a Masters in Fine Art. Observing the benefits and overlap between this and yoga, she brought her vision of a balanced hybrid practice to students at Amrita Yoga (Philadelphia, PA) this fall, combining postures both on the mat and in the air.
